The 8th generation consoles

The eighth generation begins with the launch of Nintendo 3DS, on February 25, 2011, followed later by Sony's PlayStation Vita, which was launched on December 17 of the same year and the revision of the previous Nintendo 3DS, Nintendo 3DS XL.
Officially the eighth generation of consoles started on November 18, 2012 when Nintendo released the Wii U as the first desktop console of the eighth generation. Nintendo announced the successor to its desktop console, the Wii U on November 18, 2012. At E3 2014, a new revision of the Nintendo 3DS was announced.
